At Merinda, our daily Reading Hub allows the students to access our beautiful school library and encourages regular reading between the times of 8:00am-8:30am. Parents are also invited to stay during this session.
At 8:30am when students are released from the library they have the option of either going to the classroom or playing in the undercover area under the supervision of a staff member.
Classroom doors open at 8.30am and students have the ability to get prepared for the day, have informal conversations with their teacher, catch up on any incomplete work or just find a quiet activity to complete before the bell goes at 8.50am.
A regular day at Merinda State School looks like this:
8am - Reading Hub in the library for all students who arrive between 8am-8:30am.
8:30am - Classrooms are open or students playing in the undercover area.
9am - Morning Session (classes officially begin now)
10:50am - First Break
11:30am - Middle Session
1:30pm - Second Break
2pm - Afternoon Session
3pm - School Finishes
