Harmony Day 2017

7/03/2017

Merinda State School Embraces Harmony Day!

On the 23rd of March is our school’s celebration of Harmony Day. Our diversity makes Australia a great place to live. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
To celebrate, we invite your child to bring along a special small plate for all to sample different cultural foods for second lunch. As a celebration, we welcome everyone to wear orange as well. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
During last session, students at Merinda will be participating in different cultural activities in each classroom. Thank you for your participation in this event.
The Merinda Team.
